Commentary: Up until I met my husband, I was not too interested in music. I had a hard time understanding how he could spend hours in Amoeba record store and continue to be fascinated with his long-ass “wish list” of music. I entered the relationship with a shoe box of CD’s, which for the longest time, were kept separate from his collection. Luckily I had The The’s Soul Mining CD so he thought I had the potential of “being hip”. As I write I am surrounded by 4 full racks of CD’s…only valuable wall space to me. In order to narrow it down, I came up with this crazy idea. I may be cursing it at the end, but for now, it is my Music 101 course. By taking notes and writing on the blog, I hope to better remember artist names and favorite song titles (always a challenge for me). I am forever grateful to Matt, for musically liberating me. He has introduced me to a vast range of enriching music.
